Not Blue Collar But A Passion Driven Work Force

Every time I hear someone talk about their passion and how they would love to find a job or start a business "just" doing their passion or passions in life, it reinforces my theory of having a what I call a "Passion Driven Work Force". Right now, gas at "Ol' Saint Pump" is almost 6 dollars a gallon, the unemployment rate is at a 20 year high and we are still in war that should have never been authorize and never been waged, to raise the spirits and hopes of the America people, I want to call on employers to adopt a "Passion Driven Work Force" model.

What is a "Passion Driven Work Force" model? It is simply having people working at jobs for what they have a passion for. Not working to get a pay check. Not working to increase their resume credentials but doing something they LOVE! Think about it? Would you not be happier on a day to day basis if you were working for a job or starting a business that is your passion in life? Would that not ease the burden of reality just a little?

Moreover, the PDWF model would increase productivity in the short-run and long-run for employers because the majority, if not 100% of their company's employees, will be doing something that the love and have a passion for. So, join me on my quest for employers to adopt this model for it is our only hope right now and enjoyment until Barack Obama wins the white house!

Good Night and Good Luck (Seriously!)

Empowering and Motivating

Wow! I know it has been quite a while since my last blog post(the last day of last year to be exact) but here it is. Last week, I had a conversation with my girlfriend about what are the distinct differences between feeling empowered and feeling motivated. Some of you out there may believe that the two are the same and that is fine but here is my take on it: I believe feeling empowered and feeling motivated are different but while they are different you need both of them in your life's journey to live in your passion.

During our conversation, my girlfriend expressed to me that feeling empowered is for a person to feel compelled to do an action or finally getting off their behinds and "physically" doing something that he or she has always wanted to do but was never empowered to do so. And feeling motivated is having the courage to continue to be empowered. Feeling motivated to do something is that thing in the morning time that makes us realize that what we are during is worth our time, sweat, blood and tears.

I like to compare feeling empowered and motivated to a quote that is extremely dear to me and I would like to share it with you guys if you have not already read it previously to this blog post, here it is: Vision without action is merely a dream; action without vision just passes the time but vision with action can change the world.

I believe that this is true; I believe feeling empowered is action and feeling motivated to a degree is having the vision to see things through. You need the two of them to really make positive change in your life and it is my hope that those of you that read this blog post are blessed this year to feel empowered and motivated to change the world in your daily lives.

Good day and Good luck.

What is your New Year's Passion for 2008?

I hate goals; No, I really hate goals! Did I mention that I hate goals? I know that hate is a strong word but goals and goal setting is killing Americans! So, please stop setting goals. O.k., so I hammered that point into your goal-setting-new-years-resolution head of yours, goals are sooooooooo overrated. However, what is not overrated is a "true" passion for what you LOVE doing in life. Yes, your passion in life! One of my passions is technology and the way it connects humanity to build human relationship.

Therefore, what is your passion for 2008? I know passions just don't come out of thin air like goals but think for a second what you love doing in life, what makes you smile, what makes you think for a second I could do this for free. Well, that good feeling in your heart about a certain activity might be a passion of yours. Believe me when I say this, "Follow it"! For 2008, do your passion in life please put down the goals! Happy New Years!

The Donorism of Christmas

For many of us, Christmas is about giving and receiving gifts and sharing time with family and friends (the closest to you). It is a time unlike no other in the year. However, I believe Christmas is more than what was just mentioned, for me, it is the "Pre-Happy New Year!". It is like the "New Year's Eve of New Year's Eve"(kind of). More importantly, I believe Christmas is the last "Greatest feeling" that individuals and families feel.

This feeling that one feels on Christmas brings a certain type of momentum or passion or drive going into the New Year that suits it best more than any other holiday throughout the year to catapult us through January 1st. Thus, while you are opening your presents on Christmas day and spending time with the people you love the most, take some time to reflect on the last "Greatest feeling"that will touch your heart and bring conscious security to your mind before you start counting backwards ".......10,9,8,....5,4,32,1!!!" because then the rest is history!

Merry Christmas to All and Happy Successful New Year!

A Real Southern Belle, It's Paula Deen "Y' all!"

Many of us, if not all of us, should know who Paula Deen is and her story. She has been all over television lately and has written several books on her donorism in life, which is cooking. If I had a donorism award of the year (Hmm....), I would give it to the Queen of southern cooking. This lady is a wonderful example why it is extremely imperative to run after your passion or passions in life and to not give in to haters! If any of you out there need any inspiration to live up to your donorism, look no further, just read this woman's story and you will be amazed. Well "Y' all!" that is all. Chow for now!

The Definition of Donorism

O.k., for those out there that are wondering, what in the heck is donorism or a least what does it mean? Here you go:

do-nor-ism, -noun, 1). dedicating oneself to one's passion or passions in life.

It is sweet, short and to the point. Moreover, Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Grey's Anatomy, has put it into practice: "It is such a joy when you get to do the thing you would secretly do for free and get paid for it."

Jay - Z meets Technology

Music, bling bling, cars, movies, tv shows and etc, Hip Hop has influenced and remixed all of these key industries and has taken them to new heights. However, one believes that the Hip Hop culture has yet to remix technology. But wait! You are probably saying to yourself right now, what about the iPod and the Sidekick? Well, those are perfect examples of Hip Hop influences from an end-user experience but not from a "creator experience". There is not if at "all" any Hip Hop influence from the creator side of the field. Your Myspaces, Facebooks, and LinkedIns are developed and ran without any type of Hip Hop jazz in mind, if I am wrong, please, my readers, let me know! This leaves an undeniable question on our plates.

What would the internet be if the Hip Hop community "really" remixed the internet like it has with music and sports? Would the world be ready? Would the world appreciate the innovation and creativity? I tend to believe.... YES! Why not? The Hip Hop community is arguably the most dominant culture currently in the world. Countries in Asian, Africa, and South America are riding the Hip Hop wave. I believe the internet will not achieve its "true" potential until we start seeing more heavy involved Hip Hop community from the creator side of the tech industry. To be continued...
